MasterClass on Scientific Innovation with Reykjavik University

A successful three-day course for researchers on innovation, funding, and intellectual property – guided by experienced mentors.

Sandra Mjöll Jónsdóttir-Buch, Ph.d.

Last week, Auðna TTO Iceland had the pleasure of hosting an engaging MasterClass designed specifically for researchers from Reykjavik University. Over the course of three days, the participants—mostly PhD students and post-docs—gathered to explore the world of research commercialisation, innovation strategy, and entrepreneurial thinking.

From IP to Impact: Real-World Insights and Hands-On Learning

Held at Reykjavík University and Gróska, the class combined expert-led lectures with interactive teamwork sessions. Participants dove into key topics such as intellectual property rights, the Business Model Canvas, funding opportunities, and public relations. They also benefited from inspiring talks by entrepreneurs and other specialists who shared real-world lessons and actionable insights.

The feedback has been very positive and participants praised the programme for its relevance, practical value, and the rare opportunity to connect directly with experienced mentors in the field.

We thank our participants for a great week and are already looking forward to the next MasterClass with Landspítalinn in April!
