March MasterClass
A two-day MasterClass on how research and ideas can be developed towards practical application and societal impact.

The first MasterClass of the year took place this week. This time, we welcomed researchers from the University of Iceland, Matís, and the Icelandic Institute of Technology, who explored the entire process from idea to real-world impact, as well as the unique aspects of scientific innovation and the fundamentals of value creation from research results.
During this two-day course, participants received, among other things, training on how knowledge and technology transfer can support the commercialisation of research results, the importance of intellectual property protection, and how to develop ideas using the Lean Canvas. The funding landscape in Iceland and Europe was also covered in detail, along with key considerations when approaching investors. At the end of the course, participants had the opportunity to present their projects to the group, applying the tools and methods they had learned throughout the program.
