Einar Mäntylä Manager of Auðna, in a radio interview at Sprengisandi

A revolutionary increase in patent applications.

Einar í stúdíói Bylgjunnar

Einar went to an interview at Sprengisandur this morning with the host Kristján, and they discussed, among other things, the wave-like increase in patents coming from the university and research environment this year. This increase can largely be attributed to the activities of Audna Technology Transfer Office which, since its establishment in late 2018, has focused on raising awareness of the importance of intellectual property protection and innovation within the scientific community. Research work in the country is of good quality, internationally, and is an important source of innovation. It is important that we are lucky enough to seize the opportunities that research presents and also that we increase support for research, as our neighboring countries are doing in order not to fall behind. The interview discusses the wide-ranging effects of scientific work on society and the country's economy. (The interview is in Icelandic).
