The team that won the solution competition (Gamithra Marga, Atli Jasonarson, Alex Grenier, Rebekah Marcs and Luis Melo) came up with a proposal for a new communication solution for Landsbjorg and the team in second place (Ethan Klinkenborg, Madeline Haider, Magdalena Charlotta Holst and Sylva Lamm) came up with an idea to innovative nutrition that rescuers can use during calls. Ideas for improved stretchers, new hygiene solutions and solutions against hypothermia in difficult conditions were also presented. The teams did a great job despite the short time given to work on solutions.
Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir, Minister of Tourism, Industry and Innovation, opened the event with a speech, and on the last day of the solution meeting, Lilja Dögg Alfreðsdóttir, Minister of Education and Culture, visited and encouraged the participants.
We at Audna TTO would like to thank the teams, partners, instructors and participants in the panel for a fun and inspiring week. The solution meeting marked the beginning of a collaboration that we hope to expand further with the aim of designing solutions for the difficult situations in which the rescue teams work every day.
